My husband, Steve Sadler, and I have spent nearly 2 years coming from Tragedy to Triumph.  We've just rebuilt our home that was destroyed by Tropical Storm Fay 8/22/08 ... and it's scheduled to be the 1st Platinum LEED  certified home in NE Florida. We have #14 geothermal wells (175-225 ft deep); 68 PV panels on the roof, solar water heater, living walls, 1,000+ native plants and a yummy organic garden!  The home is the 1st Gold WaterStar home in Duval County (Jacksonville) and is one of the most energy efficient in Florida with a HERS index of 18!  

We only salvaged 4 pieces of furniture and 1 pair of shoes each from the flooding during the storm.  So we have a much greater appreciation about "stuff" and how it can clutter our lives.  We have also learned that our job now - is to educate others about building and living green.
