Description: We knew we wanted to carry the stainless steel theme thought the kitchen, so we opted for a flat sheet stainless steel back splash for the stove area. Since that's not an item you can easily walk into a home improvement center and load in your truck, we went to a local metal fabricator. I told them I needed a 3' x 8' foot piece and a 30" x 36" piece. Of course they were curious, so that asked what I was using it for. When I told them it was going to be the stove back splash, they said it was a first for them. We seamed the 2 pieces behind the vent hood, so it really looks like all one piece. I have to say we did go through quite a few blades and bits cutting the holes for the outlets and drilling the holes to screw it in with, but the end result is exactly what we were looking for.
