" I have been shot at...stabbed. cut and run through...I have been charged by angry elephants...confronted by both a lion and a black mamba face to face in the wild; fought the largest toughest men on the face of the earth with my bare hands; was knocked out COLD by both cerebal malaria and malnutition and I do not remember feeling fear...I know it was there somewhere but it must have manifested laterafter the event was over. Sunday afternoon Imet fear face to face! My daughter Kelly talked me intovolunteering for a musical Tom Sawyer at theChildren's Theater..the director gave methe part as Judge Thatcher (Becky's father)...Sunday was the opening...it was the first time in my whole life Ifelt scared ... my KNEES WERE KNOCKING right on STAGE, when I began my lines- and I had to press them together in hopes thatthe audience wouldn't see my pants shaking...I got through it Ok ...WHAT AN OUTSTANDING EXPERIENCE FOR ME....AND >>>> then meeting both THE KIDS AND THE ADULTS ....WOW...imagine me??? learning both courage and humility at my age and them voluntarily learningit at such early ages...I salute them all...best kids I ever met...taught me many lessons in humility ...and the director...Hummmmmmmm....she's my new scary LION Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....taught me courage....OORAH!!!!
