  • Hey Joy,

When applying for building permits/rebates it is specified that the turbine, tower, and blades not be altered from the manufacturers standard (i.e. paint, signage, lighting, etc...)

According to Erickson, et.al, 2002. "Summary of Anthropogenic Causes of Bird Mortality" Proceedings of the 2002 International Partner's in Flight Conference, Monterrey, California. It was found that communications towers, pesticides, vehicles, power lines, cats, buildings, and windows cause more bird fatalities than residential wind turbines.

Questions often raised may be important to share with you on choosing the color of these blades ,they may be “Black or Black stripes / White/ Grey/Red/Combinations/Else”which you may be better aware of  ,in context to the risk free movement of indigenous species.

I think to avoid  fkying species collision right use of Tetrachromacy phenomenon color combinations thereby impacting the Visibility Spectrum even at night without using lights for both for visibility issue & thereby heat may be a cost-energy effective measure and simultaneously by Minimizing Motion Smear / Motion Blur may reduce this impact of collision to a considerable extent .

    Cheers
